Training and resources
I train others to use plain English writing techniques to share their research evidence. These handouts were produced for Authoraid’s Communicating Research Outside Academia, a MOOC aimed at researchers in low- and middle-income countries. I designed similar material for my courses at FORCE11 (San Diego, 2018) and the Health Systems Global (Liverpool, 2018).
For UNICEF and WFP, I designed guidance on: Writing a Policy Brief; 10 Tools to Help Design Research Uptake Plans for Programmes; and Ethical Authorship Guidelines (including how to incorporate using the CRediT taxonomy).
Clarifying and structuring your argument & assessing the tone of your paper
This video was produced for participants of AuthorAID's Research Writing in the Social Sciences course (2020). Includes tips on clarifying and structuring your argument, what tone you should use when writing and how I organised the argument for my PhD thesis.
